I came to Guiding Lights just beat down by my addiction. Guiding Lights provided me with a safe and sober home. With increased privileges and trust as time passed, I was able to learn a sober way of life while I reconstructed my life. I am so thankful for the sober living house and all that Ms LaTosha does for me/ us. Without Guiding Lights, I would have been homeless or worse and I could still be addicted to the drugs that ran my life. For many of us in addiction, jails, institutions and death were our outcomes. But because of Guiding Lights and Ms LaTosha I no longer have to worry about that. I got the opportunity to change not only my life, but to fix all these broken behaviors, thoughts and patterns. I began a program of recovery on September 11, 2022. Today my life is more than I could ever imagine it would be. Today I'm a mother, I'm a daughter, and I'm excited to say that I'm a grandma, and my family is a huge part of my life. I'm no longer invited to family things out of pity or concern. I'm welcomed instead and that means so much! My life is full of surprises all the time. I am grateful to have a program I can use to help me grow through life's challenges. I no longer regret being an addict since it is through my addiction that I have been able to grow and integrate a wonderful set of principles into my life.
